On the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Berlin Wall Foundation at Checkpoint Charlie is organising a live speaking event and discussions with contemporary witnesses and Yadegar Asisi to mark the exhibition ‘Let us in! The Opening of the Wall at Checkpoint Charlie’. Our guides will be on site to answer your questions, explore the historical traces of the border crossing and tell its story as a hotspot of the Cold War. Simply talk to them!

At 3 pm, Jochen Krüger talks to contemporary witness Mathias Brauner, the photographer behind the pictures in the ‘Let us in!’ exhibition, about his pictures and his experiences from the night of 9 November 1989.

At 4 pm, Dr Susanne Muhle talks to Yadegar Asisi, the founder of the Asisi panorama, about his West Berlin perspective on the Wall and the fall of the Wall.

The event will take place at Checkpoint Charlie and Asis-Panorama (Friedrichstraße corner Zimmerstraße).
