Frau Puppendoktor Pille (Ms. Puppet Doctor Pill) was a beloved children’s character on East German television played by Urte Blankenstein and known for wearing a large pair of round glasses. In the Sandmännchen show, Dr. Pille lovingly cared for sick dolls and cuddly toys. She also used funny rhymes to explain health-related subjects in a playful way and taught children about self-care and medicine. She became a cult figure and is still warmly remembered by many people today.
