Heinz Jankofsky (1935 – 2002) was one of the most popular cartoonists in the GDR. The well-known, lovable characters with bulbous noses were his trademark. He published his drawings in Eulenspiegel, the NBI and in daily newspapers. After the fall of the Wall, he became a kind of in-house illustrator for SUPERillu.
In memory of the great cartoonist, SUPERillu regularly organizes a competition. The best entries will be selected by a jury, awarded and presented this year in a small exhibition in the conference room of the DDR Museum. The exhibition will be on display there from October 10th to 11th and October 14th to 17th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
