Celebratory concert: The European dimension of the fall of the Berlin Wall 35 years ago

Concert in St. Matthew's Church with Charlotte Jonen (violin), Mikhail Mordvinov (piano), Zsusza Breier (keynote speech), Sebastian Lambertz (moderator).

Bianca Evers (Charlotte Jonen), privat (Mikhail Mordvinov)

This event commemorates the fall of the Berlin Wall 35 years ago. The German-Hungarian literary scholar Zsuzsa Breier will shed light on the European dimension of the fall of the Wall in a short keynote speech. Charlotte Jonen (violin) and Mikhail Mordvinov (piano) will then take us on a musical journey through Europe under the motto “The sound of freedom”.

Because hardly anything unites Europe as much as music. It has been building bridges across all languages and borders for centuries. At the same time, it expresses the urge for freedom that is so important to the history of Europe.

The program includes works by Vaja Azarashvili, Ludwig van Beethoven, Vittorio Monti, Johann Sebastian Bach, Ernest Bloch, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and others. In addition to the pursuit of freedom, all these works express one thing above all: the incredible diversity that characterizes the music and spirit of Europe.

Please register for the event on the website of the Landeszentrale für politische Bildung.
