Anyone travelling in Berlin is walking on historical ground. More than almost anywhere else in the world, numerous layers of history are hidden beneath the surface of the German capital. Many traces fade with time and are invisible at first glance, even to those with an interest in history. berlinHistory e.V. has set itself the task of making such traces of history visible and tangible and at the same time preserving them for the long term. The berlinHistory app is an open digital platform for cultural institutions, museums and archives, as well as for private initiatives, local historians and citizens.
To coincide with the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the free app offers an audio guide to the Berlin Wall Trail, which invites you to walk and explore with 164 kilometres and 154 points of interest. The audio guide is a production of berlinHistory e.v. in cooperation with Wanderwall and with the kind support of the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion.
