On November 9, the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Mauerfilmfest#35 will show over six hours of short films on the topics of building the Wall, fear and mistrust, everyday life with the Wall as well as the fall of the Wall and transformation.
Contemporary witnesses and young journalists discuss freedom while historians invoke the memory of those who died at the Wall and the significance of Checkpoint Charlie. All this followed by some jazz from the Bürgermeister Trio and a choir concert by the Berliner Kneipenchor.
In the talks taking place here, representatives of the post-unification generation will share their personal experiences. For example, musical highlights will be provided by the band SIND and by Mark Reeder, who will draw on songs and their own experiences to recount the story of youth and resistance in divided Berlin.
