Digital Accessibility

Kulturprojekte Berlin GmbH | 35 Jahre Mauerfall strives to make its web presence barrier-free. The digital accessibility declaration is required by the Berlin Accessible Information and Communication Technology Act (BIKTG Bln). The technical requirements for accessibility result from the BITV 2.0. This declaration on digital accessibility applies to the website www.mauerfall35.berlin

Digital Accessibility Statement

When was the accessibility statement created?

This declaration was created or revised on 19. September 2024. The technical accessibility check has not yet been carried out, as the website is still under construction in its full functionality.

How accessible is the offer?

The website is largely compatible with the requirements of BITV 2.0. We are endeavouring to continuously reduce remaining barriers and to eliminate them as far as possible.

1. Disproportionate burden

Subareas that are not designed to be barrier-free, as it would be a disproportionate burden. (BIKTG Bln §4 paragraph 3)

Subsection: 9.1.1.1b Alternative texts for graphics and object (external content)

Description: A large proportion of the non-linked graphics and images obtained from external sources are not provided with alternative texts. This primarily concerns graphics and images of exhibitions and events of external partners.

Explanation of why there is disproportionate burden: Kulturprojekte Berlin obtains external data on exhibitions and events from external sources: Data from events organised by external partners will be transmitted to Kulturprojekte Berlin to communicate them on this website. It is not feasible for the editors of this website to carry out editorial checks on these very large amounts of data, which would place a disproportionate burden on them. The editors of this website continue to advise the participating institutions of the need to provide alternative texts for graphics and objects.

2. No use case

Content that does not fall within the scope of the Barrier-free ICT Act Berlin and therefore does not have to be barrier-free (due to BIKTG Bln, § 4 paragraph 4)

Content: Use of online and map services

Description: Online map services (Mapbox) are implemented on the website. These are not fully optimised for control with a screen reader or keyboard operability. An online map service is integrated on the subpages programme and on the programme details pages.

Accessible alternative: Information on travelling to or attending an event is also provided as text on all the pages mentioned. This means that the essential information is presented in an accessible way for navigation purposes.
