Berlin, October 3rd & 4th, 1964: A total of 57 people fled under the Berlin Wall to West Berlin through the 145-meter-long ‘Tunnel 57’ on Bernauer Strasse. The history of the tunnel and the death of border guard Egon Schultz on the second night of the escape became world-famous. To mark the 60th anniversary of the events, the Berlin Wall Foundation and Berliner Unterwelten e.V. are inviting visitors to a special program of events.
Here you will find the live viewing on YouTube.
